A Place to Exercise

Oakwood's Fitness Center is filled with the latest in resistance and cardiovascular equipment. Our free weight room has everything required to satisfy the needs of veteran weight lifters. To compliment our selection of resistance-training equipment, we offer Cybex selectorized machines, and a complete line of "Free Motion" pieces. To address cardiovascular training needs, our members can choose from over 100 machines, which include treadmills, elliptical trainers, stair-climbers, cycles, rowers, and more. Additionally, members can enjoy the benefits from training with stability balls, medicine balls, foam rollers, balance trainers, etc., all of which are available in the Fitness Center.

Fitness Center Guidelines

For the safe and enjoyable use of the Oakwood Athletic Club facility by all our members, the following guidelines apply when using the Fitness Center. Please familiarize yourself with them.

• Proper workout clothing and shoes must be worn at all times. Street clothes and sandals are not allowed.
• Please do not bring any food into the Fitness Center. Beverages are allowed in plastic non-spill containers only. All drink containers must have lids.
• Please adhere to the "30 minute" time limit on the cardio-vascular equipment during prime time hours or when others are waiting. Prime time hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays 7:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Please wipe off perspiration from all equipment after use. Towels are provided in the Fitness Center for this purpose.
• Please be courteous and let other members "work in" if you are using a piece of equipment.
• Newspapers and magazines are available for your use during your workouts. Please return them to the designated areas so others may also enjoy them.
• No cellular phone usage in the Fitness Center.
• No equipment may be taken from the weight room. Please put all bars, plates and dumbbells in their proper place.
• Please do not drop or slam weights. This includes both machines and free weights.
• Children under the age of 13 are NOT ALLOWED in the Fitness Center at any time. All Juniors, ages 13 to 15, must be supervised by a parent during prime time hours. Juniors 16 & 17 who have signed the Junior Expanded Use Agreement may use the Fitness Center during prime time without parental supervision, provided they are on a staff-approved program.
• Instruction provided by individuals other than Oakwood's fitness staff is prohibited.
