Squash at Oakwood
Oakwood is proud to host a very active squash playing community. A variety of programs are offered, including an in-house league, teams representing our Club in the East Bay League, adult and youth instruction and drill sessions, mini-tournaments, special events with other clubs in the area and private lessons. There are three premier glass-back wall international-size courts at Oakwood within the gymnasium.

In-House League
Oakwood’s in-house league sports five Divisions from Novice to A Level, each with up to 10 players. Formal sessions are in the fall (September through early December) and winter (January through late April) and feature Round-Robin play ending with a single-elimination tournament. An informal, handicap session takes place over the summer months. To join or seek information, enquire at the Activities Desk or contact Jose Alonso at JRAlonso@lbl.gov

East Bay League
The East Bay Competitive Squash League features team matches between seven clubs in the East Bay with active squash programs. Matches for three Divisions are played Wednesday evenings throughout the fall and winter months. Playoffs occur at the end of the season between the top teams in the East Bay, Peninsula, Marin and Sacramento leagues to determine the overall Northern California Champions. In 2005 the Oakwood Division II team won it all! To get more information or join a team, contact the Activities Desk or Ned Fischer at ned.fischer@gmail.com

Open Challenge Courts
Remember all players, both beginners and advanced, are invited and encouraged to participate in the Challenge Courts on Monday evenings from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday mornings from 8:00 – 10:00 am.
