COVID-19 communication to members

February 11, 2022

Dear Oakwood Members,

Contra Costa County has announced that they will lift the indoor mask mandate beginning Wednesday, February 16, 2022! This includes for businesses such as gyms.

With the COVID-19 vaccine and booster being strongly recommended to further our defenses, Oakwood will continue to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for members 5 and older. Full COVID-19 vaccination is two weeks after your 2nd dose for Pfizer or Moderna, or one week after a single dose of Johnson and Johnson. Oakwood and our members have worked diligently to keep the Club safe, and we want to be cautious as we emerge from the Omicron wave. We want to pursue a prudent transitional process as we adjust our policies, looking forward to the day when we can welcome all members back to the Club, regardless of vaccination status. We will continue to send updates as we take a phased approach to returning to our more typical operations.

• Masks will be optional for members beginning Wednesday, February 16, 2022
• Proof of Vaccination is required for members 5 and older to use the Club, including Childcare
• Children 4 years and younger may use the general facility and Childcare
• Children ages 2 - 4 years old must wear masks at all times while indoors
• Childcare remains a mask required environment for all ages

If you would like to make any changes to your membership, please contact our Membership Department.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we continue to carve a path forward for our membership.

December 28, 2021

Dear Oakwood Members,

The Contra Costa County Health Department is requiring indoor masking for all businesses, including office buildings and gyms, beginning Wednesday, December 29th.

Previously, as a fully vaccinated facility, we were able to allow masks to be optional.

Beginning, Wednesday, December 29th masks will be required indoors regardless of vaccination status. This includes fully wearing masks while in studio classes, the gymnasium, common areas of the Club, in the locker rooms, and in the cardio and weight areas. Masks are not recommended while in the pool, hot tubs, steam room, sauna, or while showering.

Oakwood will continue to require proof of vaccination for all members to access the general facility.

We understand the frustration and challenges that come with wearing a mask while exercising. Please be respectful of staff if you are reminded to ensure your mask is covering your nose and mouth while in the Club.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide the safest possible environment for our staff and members.

October 22, 2021

Contra Costa County has announced that certain indoor settings, where everyone is fully vaccinated, may lift masking requirements beginning November 1, 2021. This includes gyms and fitness facilities!
Beginning, Monday, November 1, 2021 masks will be optional at Oakwood, as our membership and staff are fully vaccinated.

Due to the update in the County guidelines and in allowing masks to be optional at Oakwood, please review the operational changes for November 1st
• Members will continue to be required to show proof of vaccination to utilize the Club.
• Members that have not submitted proof or do not have proof upon check-in will not be granted access to the Club.
• We are unable to make any medical or religious accommodations for unvaccinated members at this time in order to follow the county guidance of a fully vaccinated facility.
• Youth members, under 12, will not be able to use the general facility. Childcare will remain open and youth will have access to the pool when accompanied by an adult. To follow the county guidance of fully vaccinated, this includes those not yet eligible.
• Members are asked to self-check for COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming to the Club and not come if they are not feeling well.

We continue to encourage wearing masks to the extent possible with your workout.

General indoor-masking requirements remain in effect in other businesses until the criteria outlined by the County is met. This is projected to be late December, early January. Once the general indoor-masking is lifted we hope guidelines will allow youth general access to the facility. We will continue to send updates as mandates and guidelines change.

Please contact Membership should you wish to make any changes to your membership.

September 14, 2021

As we announced earlier this month, Oakwood will be requiring members and staff to be vaccinated to use the Club beginning October 1, 2021. Contra Costa County announced a new health order today that will require proof of vaccination at some businesses, including gyms. While we were already moving this direction, the county has made this effective beginning Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

What this means for our members:
We will continue with requirements to show proof of vaccination to enter Oakwood as previously outlined, however this will now BEGIN WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2021.
We will also be amending the age to 12 and older, as we had originally stated 16 and older.

How do we show proof of vaccination?
Proof will be accepted in one of the following forms:
• Physical vaccination card
• Photo of vaccination card
• Digital vaccination card via CA SMART Health Card

Do I have to show my card every time?
Members that do not wish for Oakwood to store card verification WILL BE REQUIRED to show their proof of vaccination at each check-in.
However, you may complete a onetime authorization form to allow us to store the verification of your vaccination record for subsequent Club use. You may either show proof at Oakwood or request here to upload a copy of your proof. Once the verification process is complete, we will delete the uploaded file.

Oakwood will work with members requesting medical or religious accommodations. Please contact the Club as soon as possible. Submitting for a medical or religious accommodation does take time as there is an approval process and this is not guaranteed.

September 2, 2021

In an effort to create the safest environment possible for our members and staff, Oakwood will require members, ages 16 and older, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to utilize the Club. Oakwood members and staff will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to enter Oakwood beginning Friday, October 1, 2021. This can be one-time, should you authorize Oakwood to store the verification for check-in purposes, or you can show proof of vaccination at every check-in.

Should you authorize Oakwood to store the verification for check-in purposes you may begin submitting proof on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. You may either show proof at Oakwood or request here to upload a copy of your proof. Once the verification process is complete we will delete the uploaded file. You will be asked to complete a onetime authorization form to allow us to store the verification for subsequent Club use.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements:
Beginning October 1, 2021 members, 16 and older, must show proof of vaccination to utilize the Club. This can be one-time, should you authorize Oakwood to store the verification for check-in purposes or you can show proof of vaccination at every check-in.
Proof will be accepted in one of the following forms:
• Physical vaccination card
• Photo of vaccination card
• Digital vaccination card via CA SMART Health Card

Members are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second COVID-19 vaccine dose, or two weeks after the one dose J&J COVID-19 vaccine. Oakwood Athletic Club reserves the right to request an additional vaccine verification in the form of the California State digital Covid-19 vaccine record to determine validity. More information on this digital vaccine record can be found at https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/.

Proof of your vaccination status will be recorded for future Club visits:
• Provided proof of COVID-19 vaccination is for verification purposes only. We will not make or store a copy of your vaccination card.
• When uploading your proof, the card will be reviewed by us for verification purposes but will be deleted after the process is complete.

Members that do not wish for Oakwood to store such verification WILL BE REQUIRED to show their proof of vaccination at each check-in.

Oakwood will work with members who require medical or religious accommodations. Please contact the Club as soon as possible.

Masks continue to be mandated by Contra Costa County, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be worn to cover the nose and mouth throughout the indoor facilities. Masks are not recommended in the indoor hot tub or steam room. Please be respectful of the staff and your fellow member be adhering to this guidance.

Thank you for your commitment to the health and safety of Oakwood and the community at large.

June 14, 2021

Anticipated changes for June 15th!
Per the State, on June 15th capacity and distancing restrictions will be lifted for most businesses and activities! As we await confirmation of this, and any potential guidance, we wanted to let members know of the operational changes that we anticipate taking effect next week!

Mask Management
California has indicated it will align its mask guidance with the CDC's on June 15th. After that, the state plans to allow those that are fully-vaccinated to go without a mask in most indoor settings.
In this case:
- Members who are fully-vaccinated (two weeks after the final dose) would not be required to wear masks indoors. We highly encourage members to wear masks to the extent possible with their workout to continue protecting themselves and others.
- Members, including children 2 years and older, who are NOT fully-vaccinated will be required to continue to wear a mask at all times while indoors.
- Upon check-in members will be asked to attest to whether or not they are fully vaccinated
- Oakwood reserves the right to ask for proof of vaccine verification.

May 17, 2021

As we move forward with our reopening plans, we wanted to provide an update as we approach June. Contra Costa County continues to be in the Orange Tier of California’s Reopening Blueprint, which allows for 25% indoor capacity. After having indoor reservations in place for the first two weeks of May, we have found that the flow of usage is manageable within the limits and will remove the reservations for INDOOR EQUIPMENT access beginning Monday, May 24th. Reservations specific to lap swimming, group classes, childcare, and the jr pool are still required.

Beginning, Monday, May 24th you may join us indoors at any time, no reservation for general equipment usage needed!

MASKS
We are aware of the recent statement from the CDC regarding masking indoors. We are closely monitoring guidance from the State and County regarding any changes to the current mask mandates as well as the potential full reopening date of June 15th, per the state. We will continue to evaluate guidance as it evolves and update members on any policy changes. Please understand that masks ARE REQUIRED indoors at all times until further notice.

Update April 6, 2021

As we navigate through an unprecedented year we continue to evaluate our reopening guidance, state and county mandates, and the vaccine availability. Our top priority is the health and safety of our members and staff.

We have been thrilled to hear from members that are on their way to being fully vaccinated and are ready to get back into the Club! We encourage anyone currently eligible to receive the vaccine to request an appointment today to help the community continue on the path to reopening safely.

Contra Costa County has announced movement into the Orange Tier, which allows for 25% indoor capacity for gyms. While this is a needed move forward for our community on a whole, we are still looking to balance this with vaccine availability for both members and staff. The county has now opened vaccine appointments to the general public, which is giving staff the ability to be vaccinated this month. We will continue to phase in aspects of the facility as this happens and send updates accordingly.

Should the state and county continue to progress forward at the current pace we are hopeful to have the majority of the Club open by May 1st. Although reservations may still be required, May will be free for all members to compensate for closing mid-March 2020! We hope to have all services available by mid-May and would look to resume dues and billing on June 1st. This is contingent on continual progress forward and movement into the Yellow Tier of operations, which is 50% indoor capacity.

This timeline is certainly an estimate and may change based on the tier assignments, but we wanted to let members know of Oakwood’s current path to reopening the club.

Please stay tuned for more updates as they become available.

We looked forward to seeing you and your families again soon!

Update February 12, 2021

As the stay-at-home orders for Contra Costa County were recently lifted, we understand you may have questions on how this change effects Oakwood’s operations. We were happy to be deemed by the State and County as an essential business that can operate outdoors under the more restrictive stay-at-home order. However, as Contra Costa County remains in the purple tier, according to the California Reopening Blueprint, we remain at outdoor operations only.

We anticipate Contra Costa County moving into the red tier of operations in the coming weeks. According to the California Reopening Blueprint, this allows gyms to be open at 10% indoor capacity, with limited services available. Given these restrictions, we have made the decision to continue with only outdoor operations until the county progresses to tiers with less limitations. These restrictions were in place when we opened indoors this past October. We found that we had little usage as the facility was so limited in what we could offer.

We are continually assessing regulations and changes to guidance, coupled with the status of the vaccination process. As this process unfolds we will continue to update members on a timeline to reopen indoors. Our focus continues to be the health and safety of our members and staff. We are optimistic that as the vaccine becomes more widely available and administered, that members and staff will feel safe to return to indoor operations at Oakwood.

Reminders regarding your membership and dues:
 - We continue to pause all memberships and will not resume billing until further notice
 - All annual memberships have been paused and the duration of the annual will not resume until the Club      resumes dues
 - Memberships may be placed on hold at no charge until further notice
 - As a reminder, due to our limited operations, our business office hours are limited

We will continue to utilize our outdoor areas for classes and workout spaces for the foreseeable future. This includes the lap pool, junior pool, group classes and personal outdoor workout spaces. These options are by reservation only and can be booked through the member login. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions regarding operations or need assistance logging in. Updated operations can be found at oakwoodathleticclub.com.

As the days get longer and warmer, we look to expand our outdoor operations and will continue to send updates as things change.

Thank you again for your patience and support over the past year. We understand that the ongoing stress, uncertainly, and challenges of COVID-19 effect everyone and we hope to get you back to your Oakwood routine soon!

Update November 13, 2020

Dear Oakwood Member,

We hope this email finds you staying safe and healthy over the past many months.

We appreciate your support while we navigate the changing County and State guidelines regarding COVID-19, especially now that cases are rising. We understand that this is a difficult time plagued by uncertainty.

As you know, we have been diligently following all mandates, including the most recent County Health Order moving the Club back to the Red Tier of indoor operations at 10% capacity.

Today, Contra Costa County announced that all indoor operations must be closed by 8:00am on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

Due to this County order we will closing our indoor operations effective Monday, November 16, 2020. We will be continuing lap swimming and outdoor classes moving forward.

Lap swimming hours will continue at the current 50 minute blocks, but will not have locker room access outside of emergency usage:
Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 7:00pm
Friday 6:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday and Sunday 7:00am – 3:00pm

We will post an updated group class schedule later today for next week as we will need to adjust indoor classes.

A reminder that all memberships continue to be paused and no dues have been assessed. Please don’t hesitate to contact Ashley Petrossian, our Membership Manager, if you have questions regarding your membership at [email protected].

We encourage those members that have been using the Club indoors and outdoors to keep up with reservation payments via the member login for online payments, by calling the Club directly to make a payment, or mailing a check directly to the Club. Effective Saturday, November 14th, we will be moving back to credit card payment only when making reservations.

While this is a tough move, we hope it allows for a safe holiday season for our members and staff. Based on directives provided by Contra Costa County, we anticipate that indoor activities will not be allowed until a significant time period after the holiday season. We will assess this after the New Year based on County and State directives.

Update September 23, 2020

We cannot thank you enough for your support and patience over the past 6 months!

Contra Costa County is currently in the most restrictive tier of operations, which is outdoors only. However, the county’s current trajectory may move us into the red tier for indoor operations next week! With this, we are anticipating opening the Club indoors on Thursday, October 1st! We will have confirmation of this through the state on Tuesday, September 29th and confirm our reopening date!

This movement to the red tier, per the state, allows for indoor operations with capacity limits of 10%. We understand that this significantly reduces the number of members in the Club at any given time.

Given these limitations, we will NOT BE RESUMING DUES at this time. Similar to our current outdoor operations we will continue with a $10 per reservation fee. Reservations will be available in one hour blocks of time.

• NO DUES WILL BE ASSESSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
• $10 reservation fee for outdoor and indoor workout options
• No charge to put your membership on inactive status until 12/31/20

This initial email is to ensure members that while the Club is planning to open, your dues continue to be paused. More specifics on the Club’s facilities and protocols will be out shortly and updated online later this week at Oakwoodathleticclub.com, but I have included a few key elements below.

Anticipated opening date of Thursday, October 1, 2020

Saturday & Sunday 7:00am – 8:00pm

Reservations
1 hour reservations blocks for equipment and lap swimming will be available, in addition to making reservations for group classes. A 30 minute cleaning break will be held at the end of each reservation time. A $10 fee will be charged when making your reservation. Reservations are for 18 and over only at this time.

Masks
Masks will be required at all times while indoors. For outdoor workouts and classes, masks may be removed once you are in your designated space, appropriately distance from others.

Update July 18, 2020

Dear Oakwood Members,

With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, Contra Costa County, along with much of California, has taken a step back in its reopening plans.

We wish we had better news -- but please know that we remain ready to open when we get the go-ahead from the County. We wanted to assure you that until we have a more concrete time frame we will not be charging dues. Once we have a new timeline for reopening we will update members as to how we will move forward.

We are closely monitoring all State and County announcements, as well as any changes to our industry guidelines. While we are continuing to anticipate how we will reopen, such guidelines are subject to change and we will communicate any changes to our anticipated operations as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, we are excited to launch our NEW App! You may have already seen the invitation come your way via email. This is a members only app and site, so please ensure you register through the link provided in the invite before you download the app. This is both an app and desktop platform! This more robust app does take the place of our prior app. It will still provide our group class schedule, but will also have @ home workouts, a community board to get Club updates, Club challenges, and much more! Please let us know if you did not receive an invite and we can help!

In addition, we are launching 11am LIVE classes, Monday - Friday via YouTube Live! You can find a link to these classes in the new App or by going to our YouTube Channel. This will begin Monday, July 20th!

Mondays 11am Cardio with Celine
Tuesdays 11am Bootcamp with James
Wednesday 11am Strength with Celine
Thursday 11am Cardio & Core HITT with James
Friday 11am Stretch/Yoga with Celine

Update June 29, 2020

I am sad to relay the message that our planned re-opening date has been delayed by Contra Costa County. At this time no estimated date has been given, but we are awaiting any updates regarding the timeline from the County. While we were excited to welcome you back on July 1st, we recognize that the health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance.

But, we are ready when we get the go ahead! Further details on re-opening dates and operations will be provided when we have more information.

Update June 12, 2020

An update on Membership Dues

We appreciate your patience during these uncertain times. Upon the exciting news of a potential July 1st opening, per Contra Costa County, we want to let you know that we will NOT be billing for the month of July, regardless of opening the Club.

Since the Club closed in mid-March, we have continually assessed the best way to support our membership given the closure has been significantly longer than anticipated. In lieu of crediting partial month dues for March and then charging dues for July, we are giving everyone the month of July FREE. We understand that many of you may not be ready to come back and we want to give you the month to further evaluate your membership needs. Come back and enjoy the Club and see what we have implemented to keep our staff and members safe.

Per state and county guidelines, the Club’s programming and services will be limited. We are working to ensure we can meet these guidelines and will have more information out soon. We sincerely appreciate your patience and support as we re-open the Club.

• No dues will be assessed for the month of July
• Annual Memberships will be extended 4 months from your current expiration date
• Memberships may be put on Inactive at no charge until October 31st. The $25 fee will resume November 1st
• Dues will resume billing per usual on August 1st

Changes to memberships will be accepted beginning July 1st. You are welcome to call or email with questions at any time. Membership Representatives will be available beginning July 1st to speak in person at the Club.

We will have further details out regarding specific Club operations soon.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back!

Update May 27, 2020

REOPENING FAQ

We hope this finds you and your family well and finding ways to stay active! Below are some of the more common questions we have been asked. This is what we currently know and is subject to change based on the reopening guidelines once provided. I can assure you that once we have confirmed guidelines, we will have detailed information available prior to opening the Club.

When will the Club open?
We are following State and County announcements closely. Gyms are part of Phase 3 in California’s reopening plan. As of now, California is in full Phase 2 and Contra Costa County in is the early stages of Phase 2. We are hopeful of a June reopening and will keep all members appraised as we learn more about the County’s stages and advancement into Phase 3.

What will checking into the Club look like?
We are anticipating limits on the number of people in the Club at any one time. In order to ensure we meet this requirement we may require members reserve a time for working out. This will work much like signing up for a TRX class. Once we have a better understanding of this potential guideline, we will provide detailed information. We have placed markers on the floor to ensure members are appropriately spaced when waiting to check in, both inside and outside the Club. We will ask that members have a barcode to check-in, in which they will scan themselves. Front Desk staff will welcome you behind a clear divider.

Members may be required to be proceed through a health check station prior to entering the Club for any symptoms of COVID-19 or a temperature of 100.4 or higher. In this case members will be not be able to access the Club. Members will be encouraged to self-check at home and stay home if they are sick.

What will be available within the Club?
The State, nor our County have released guidelines for gyms. However, we are closely following guidelines provided in other states and are anticipating some of the following:
• Fitness equipment
To ensure physical distancing, some cardio and strength equipment will be in a daily usage rotation. Essentially, some equipment will be placed out of order each day. We are relocating equipment to other areas of the facility to increase distancing as well. Workout spaces for weights, functional training, and stretching will be marked.
• Pool
We are hopeful for the pool opening and allowing for lap swimming. Lane reservations may required and more information will be provided. The Junior Pool will not reopen in this initial phase.
• Group Classes
If we are able to host group classes, we will do so on a modified schedule and with a limited number of participants. Classes will require reservations to ensure ample spacing.
Outside Classes - We are also looking at offering some classes outside.
• Hot tubs, Steam Room and Saunas
The indoor and outdoor hot tubs, steam rooms and dry saunas will not reopen in this initial phase as we cannot effectively distance in these spaces.
• Locker rooms
Full locker room access will be available if we are permitted under the guidelines. However, lounges and communal amenities will not be accessible. Amenities, such as razors and q-tips can be provided upon request. Ensuring proper distancing among the lockers is challenging and the majority of lockers will not be available. We will ask members to only use showers and lockers if needed during this initial phase.

Will I be required to wear a mask when in the Club?
We will follow all County guidelines regarding when and wear masks are required and keep members appraised on the expectations. All staff will be required to wear masks in the Club.

How will the Club continue to keep equipment and spaces disinfected?
We have enhanced our cleaning protocol above and beyond what was in place early this year. We have reduced non-essential touch points within the Club and devised a system to ensure staff are cleaning equipment between use, in addition to members being asked to clean before and after. More information will be provided prior to reopening regarding these specific steps.

Will members be expected to adhere to physical distancing guidelines?
Yes, members will be asked to adhere to all guidelines set forth, including distancing guidelines. We understand there will be strong desire to socialize and catch-up with your fellow members, but we ask that you maintain at least 6 feet between those not in your household. Staff will remind members that we notice encroaching on another’s space. We recognize that members will have a different comfort level with this, but will ask that all members adhere to distancing and be respectful to staff if reminded to space appropriately.

We realize this does not cover everything and will continue to update these questions and answers as best we can. We will be providing several avenues (videos, emails, FAQs and social media) for members to understand how the Club will reopen once the guidelines are announced. We are working hard to ensure we can welcome members back safely and we are excited about seeing you soon!

Update May 1, 2020

Oakwood remains temporarily closed under the extended Shelter in Place guidelines. We know this is a very difficult time for our members and their families, and that your workout regime is vital to your physical and mental well being. We are actively pursuing plans so we are ready to safely welcome you back as soon as we are given the go ahead.

We are developing new protocols as State and County Guidelines continue to evolve. These may include temperature screening for members and staff. At this point, we expect staff to wear masks, with gloves required for certain positions. In addition, we are already enhancing our disinfecting procedures throughout the Club.

We are also considering a variety of social distancing plans and feel lucky that Oakwood’s large facility promotes flexible use space.

Expect to receive more information, including finalized protocols and plans, as we move closer to re-opening day.

Please be assured that membership charges are on pause until we re-open. Looking ahead, no dues or other member charges will be assessed any earlier than July 1st, even if we are allowed to open the Club before that time. Annual dues will be adjusted once we re-open.

We also want to assure you that we are continuing to pay staff during this time.

We continue to wish you and your families all the best in staying safe and healthy. We are looking forward to the safe return of our Oakwood community.

April 1, 2020

In these uncertain times, we would like to keep you updated on your Oakwood membership.

We have had many calls and emails regarding requests to change or cancel memberships.

Until we are fully operational, we have suspended all processing of paperwork and billing procedures.

This includes:
Changes to your account.
Cancellation requests.
Freeze requests.
Any other miscellaneous changes.

We would also like to reassure you that you will not be billed for any membership dues, active or inactive, until we open for business. Once open, your March dues will be adjusted accordingly.

Thank you all for your patience and concern. We appreciate and value you as part of our club community and can’t wait to see you all back healthy and safe.

March 17, 2020

Once again, thank you for your patience in this very difficult time. As you know, we were mandated to close the Club last night, effective March 17, 2020.

Due to this closure caused by the COVID-19 virus, we are suspending your dues. We will freeze all memberships temporarily and no payments will be processed at this time until further notice.

Your April billing will be delayed and evaluated when business resumes. There will be no automatic debit occurring in April.

For those that have paid annually, please know that your Annual will be extended for the length of our closure.

For those members on automatic debit through your personal bank, please make sure to delay payment.

Since our closure was effective March 17th, your March dues will be adjusted when we re-open.

All locker rental dues will also be suspended.

As we navigate the challenges ahead, please know we will keep you informed.

Again, thank you for your patience and loyalty during this unusual time.

March 16, 2020

Thank you for all your support through these last few weeks. Because of your support and vigilance, we have successfully navigated through this unique time posed by the Coronavirus. We have no staff or members testing positive for Covid-19.

The safety of our Members and Staff is our top priority. We continue to make decisions with the health and well-being of our members and staff in mind. Having closely monitored the Coronavirus these last few weeks and making adjustments where necessary, we now must take action to comply with the Contra Costa Health Services Order, dated March 16, 2020. To that end, we are closing the Club effective 11pm Monday, March 16, 2020, until further notice.

Given that the Coronavirus is complex and evolving, it is our intention to re-open as soon as deemed appropriate by Contra Costa Health Services.

Thank you for all your support and we look forward to welcoming you back!

March 13,2020

As we navigate the rapidly developing changes and recommendations from the CDC and Contra Costa County Health Department, we are modifying our Group Exercise class policies to limit class size to 20 participants per class.

Per the County Health Department’s recommendations on social distancing, limiting the number of participants will allow for ample spacing in classes.

This will begin Saturday, March 14, 2020 until further notice.

To sign-up for classes please ask for a number upon check-in at the Front Desk.

Please check the online Group Exercise schedule and App for last minute changes to classes. Download the Oakwood Athletic Club app Androids and iphones in the App Store

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the health and well-being of our members and staff.

March 12, 2020

As the COVID-19 community impact continues to evolve, we want to keep our community aware of our continued efforts. We know that the situation is continuously changing, and we are continuing to monitor, maintain, and take as much precaution as we can to mitigate the possibility of exposure to the virus.

We are cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the club. In the locker rooms we are wiping down surfaces, lockers and handles. In the Studios we are disinfecting equipment, floors, and mats. In fitness our employees continuously disinfect and clean cardio equipment, weights and machines. In childcare we are disinfecting toys, play areas, and surfaces. In all other areas of the club, we are cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and door handles throughout the day.

We have increased the number of disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizing stations throughout the club. We have added more disinfectant wipes to both locker rooms and studios as well. Please continue to help us by wiping surfaces and equipment before and after use.

We are also in the process of evaluating all classes and program sizes. In addition to posting information in the club, we will be using our website, mobile app, email and social media platforms to send out additional information on how we will proceed in these areas.

Steps to keep Oakwood and our surrounding community safe:
- Stay home if you are sick and remain at home until you feel well.
- Wipe down equipment and surfaces before and after use. *Please dispose of wipes in trash cans after use.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, particularly before and after working out and using equipment.
- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available. Rub the sanitizer thoroughly between your fingers, outside of hands, and fingertips and allow to dry.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with your unwashed hands.
- Use a barrier, such as a paper towel or tissue, to touch commonly touched surfaces, such as bathroom door handles and elevator buttons.
